Science Education Framework
NASA has a wealth of material available for the educational community, both online and through traditional media. However, much of that material is difficult to locate and is spread across numerous websites. The NASA Science Education Framework will make it possible for teachers with limited time and technological resources to access a vast body of educational resources quickly and easily.
S2N Media, in conjunction with The New Curiosity Shop, created a prototype Framework for NASA that will provide an umbrella for finding appropriate material throughout the Agency. The NASA Science Education Framework website is designed to be usable by teachers, curriculum developers, and scientists involved in public outreach, tailoring its results to the needs of these audiences, as well as to specific grade levels and to National Science Education Standards. S2N created a prototype for the Framework that uses Flash to dynamically navigate through the many layers of science categories and deliver resources in a seamless manner. The production version of the framework will use XML to populate the Flash version and an HTML alternative.
